How Does A Fractional CFO Plus Work?
What Does an Outsourced CFO Do?
As a Fractional CFO Plus, I provide services custom-tailored for the needs of your business.

From my experience, many established companies focus on a “strategic plan” without really understanding what that means in the long term — they have not created actionable, measurable and obtainable steps to reach their goals.
On top of that, the way many companies do their strategic planning is focused on current market trends. What they do not realize about this approach, is that with the rate of change in the business world/economy/market that occurs, what works today may not be effective in the future.
Because I work with companies on a longer basis, I don’t provide a “one-size fits all” approach.
Instead, because I am there, with you (“in the trenches”, so to speak), the services I provide are custom-tailored to your situation, industry, problems and people involved.
Do any of these “how do I” questions sound familiar to you?
If so, these are just some of the areas where I can help.
When you contact me for an introductory consultation, let me know which ones you identify with the most.

Hiring an Outsourced CFO — The Fractional Leadership Process
We Decide to work together
After a preliminary consultation, if necessary, we'll schedule a time for a more detailed conversation. We'll explore your goals and talk about some of the issues you're facing. Then we'll decide whether we are a good fit and confirm that a fractional leader is right for you at this time. If so, we agree to a 30-day trial while I learn about you, your business and its gaps. This starts with us putting together an outsourced CFO engagement letter (contract) that outlines the objectives.
We Get Started
On Day 1, and throughout the first week, I need to meet as many people as possible. It’s not an interrogation but a conversation. This is the critical step in establishing a collaborative effort on your behalf — we both need the rest of the company with us. Since our plan will call for some change, it cannot be forced on the employees; effective change comes from the inside. Gaining acceptance and confidence of your staff is critical.
We Set The Foundation
Month 1 is all about observing and analyzing — gathering the information that will be the foundation of our work together. I will continue getting to know the people in your business and understand how they work as part of the team. I will also observe your business model in action, as well as analyze the financial status of the company, hiring practices, sales forecasts and operational metrics. At the end of the third week, we then typically agree to a longer engagement with clear deliverables.
We Implement Your Plan
As we move past the initial 30 days, a better picture emerges of the reality of your business — its strengths and weaknesses. The next actions always vary by company but include steps to close the gaps that are holding you back and steps to prepare for the future.
